The Altrusa International of Quincy, IL Foundation has been in existence since a bequest from deceased member, Pat Kramer. Two scholarships are given each year from the foundation from interest received from this investment as well as donations made to the foundation since its inception. We also provide literacy grants. Organizations complete an application and the committee determines the amount of the grants. Priority is given to those projects involving literacy. Scholarships are given to residents of Adams County who apply and meet the eligibility requirements. One scholarship is for high school seniors and one is for an individual already graduated from high school. These are a one year non-renewable award. SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATIONThe Patricia & Leonard Kramer Memorial Scholarship is a one-year (fall and spring) non-renewable award for a resident of Adams County, Illinois. This scholarship is for a high school senior enrolling in an accredited college, university, or technical school. The scholarship will be sent directly to the institution. Half of the award will be applied at the beginning of each semester of the 2010-2011 academic year. AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP: Maximum of $1000 ($500 per semester) ELIGIBILITY: GPA 2.8 or greater on a 4-point scale Resident of Adams County, Illinois Full-time enrollment in an accredited college, university, or technical school Be willing to give community service in the future Completed application must be postmarked by March 15 APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Application (3 copies) Short essay about some service involvement, how the involvement began, what was gained, and how it relates to career goals (3 copies) Letters of reference from three different individuals sealed by the authors (3 copies) One copy of your high school transcript Send all of the above to: Altrusa International of Quincy, IL, PO Box 733, Quincy, IL 62306 by March 15.
ALTRUSA FOUNDATION OF QUINCY, ILLINOIS SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION FOR NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENTS The Altrusa Foundation of Quincy, Illinois, Scholarship is a one-year (fall/spring) non-renewable award for a resident of Adams County. This scholarship is for a non-traditional student enrolled or enrolling in an accredited college, university, or technical school for a minimum of six hours per semester for one year. AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP: Maximum of $1000 ($500 per semester) ELIGIBILITY: High school diploma or GED At least 23 years of age and has not completed a Bachelor’s degree Resident of Adams County Enrollment in an accredited college, university or technical school Completed application must be postmarked by March 15 APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Application attaching additional sheets if necessary (3 copies) Short essay about some service involvement, what was gained, how the involvement began, and how it relates to career goals (3 copies) Letters of reference from three different individuals sealed by the authors (3 copies) One copy of your High School Diploma or GED Send all of the above to Altrusa International of Quincy, IL, PO, Box 733, Quincy, IL 62306 by March 15.
